General rules for blush application

WHERE TO APPLY YOUR BLUSHThere isn’t one right way to apply blush, depending on your face shape, there’s a way for each of us to get the most out of our rosy cheek look.

LONG
For long face shapes, apply blush on the apples and blend out towards the temples.
OVAL
For oval faces, apply blush on the apples of the cheeks and blend with a blush brush.
ROUND
To slim a round face, apply your blush in an angular motion blending from the apples of the cheeks towards the temples.
SQUARE
For square faces with a stronger jawline, apply your blush in a linear motion a few inches from the sides of your nose.
General blush rule: brushing on blush too far below the cheekbone, which visually pulls down the face, making you look jowly. Applied correctly, blush should look like, well, a blush. Rather than concentrating it on the apple of your cheek, brush it—sparingly—up along the cheekbone, using the center of your eye as a guide for your starting point. The upward sweep also gives the illusion of pulling your face upward, slimming it.
